Sense Active has launched a new programme aiming to improve the quality of football provision for people with complex disabilities, supported by county football associations and football club community organisations.
The programme will reimagine how activities are delivered to help ensure the benefits and outcomes gained from playing football can be achieved by people with complex disabilities.
Michael Erhardt, Communications Officer at Get Yourself Active said: “It is great to see collaboration across the sports sector to make the nation’s favourite sport more accessible and inclusive. Disabled people have a right to get active in a way that suits them, and the sensory football programme will make sure that people with complex disabilities can participate in, and enjoy, the beautiful game.”
The new programme aims to support people with complex disabilities to be active, including football coaches, care workers, teachers, or family members. It is designed to be used as part of football clubs’ provision in educational settings, disability support services or at home.
