Our Disability Living Allowance factsheet has been updated to reflect that this is now a benefit which can only be claimed by or on behalf of children

From today you cannot make a new claim for Disability Living Allowance if you are aged between 16 and 64. You will instead have to claim the new Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

Our Disability Rights Handbook fully explains how to claim PIP, how to appeal against a PIP refusal and how PIP fits in with your other benefits.

Our Disability Living Allowance factsheet now focuses on claims for children. To view it go to Factsheet F23 - disability living allowance
