Following a complaint reported in the Hertfordshire Mercury concerning an inaccessible disabled toilet Disability Rights UK wrote to J.D. Wetherspoon. We have now received a reply.

The radar key disabled toilet in question was at a Wetherspoon pub, The Six Templars in Hertford. A woman who tried to use the toilet found it to be inaccessible because beer kegs were being stored in it.

Disability Rights UK wrote to J.D. Wetherspoon last week expressing our concern about this situation.

In their reply Wetherspoons have apologised for this incident and assure us that this will be a one off. The toilet is now once more accessible.

Disability Rights UK would like to thank The Hertfordshire Mercury for reporting this incident and all those who made the situation known through social media. It just goes to show what can be done when disabled people act together to make their voice heard.
