Our CEO Liz Sayce said
‘I’m pleased to be joining the Social Security Advisory Committee. At DR UK we hear every day about disabled people’s experiences of the social security system and I intend to draw on that experience to advise government on how the system could work better. The Committee focuses particularly on detailed regulations and the operation of the system, and these issues have a massive impact on disabled people’s lives’
The Social Security Advisory Committee is an independent statutory body established in 1980. It provides advice to the Secretary of State on proposals for the amendment of secondary legislation and on general social security matters as required.
