Clive Davis from Newcastle Welfare Rights (Newcastle City Council) would like to let you know about two new UC resources you may be interested in.

  1. Their new ‘Introduction to Universal Credit’ e-learning module, and
  2. Their recently updated table listing the circumstances that would trigger a claim for UC - or not
(Clive thanks those from CPAG, NAWRA and others for their ongoing help with both)

To access them:

1. Introduction to Universal Credit e-learning module

It’s aimed at non specialists and of course, it relates to Newcastle but it is available if you want to make use of it, in two ways:

a). If you and colleagues want to do the module, they can get you signed up to do it – just follow the instructions on this page: www.newcastle.gov.uk/financialinclusionforprofessionals (under “Non-council staff’ almost at the bottom of the page)

b). If you use ‘Adapt’ by Learning Pool to create e-learning modules, it is possible for them to make it available to you, for you to ‘adapt’ it and create your own version. If you do want that, email clive.davis@newcastle.gov.uk with ‘UC module adapt permission’ in the subject. They would only ask you to say that “the module has been adapted from a resource developed by Newcastle City Council”

2. Recently updated table listing the circumstances that would trigger a claim for UC - or not

You can find this here and on their more detailed web page on Universal Credit.
NB this will be occasionally updated.
