Equality and Human Rights Commission launches new Human Rights Treaty Tracker
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has launched its Human Rights Treaty Tracker today, at https://humanrightstracker.com.
The tracker brings together the views of the United Nations on different human rights issues in the UK, the status of treaty rights in the UK, and information on how to engage with international human rights mechanisms. For example, the main page on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has information on how the convention is monitored, the current status of the monitoring process UK, comments from the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the results of the last review cycle.
There are 7 conventions on humanrightstracker.com:
- Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)
- Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment (CAT)
- Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)
- Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)
- International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD)
- International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR)
- International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR)
Over the coming months there will be training sessions and a second phase of this project.
