Report Recommends £7BN Investment in Social Care
The Health and Social Care Select Committee has published its report on social care, funding and work force. The key recommendation is that the government uses the forthcoming spending review to invest 7 billion pounds more per year in social care by 2023/2024.
Fazilet Hadi, Head of Policy at Disability Rights UK said “ The call for more government funding for social care is extremely welcome. The pandemic has underlined the need for health services and social care, to be valued and treated equally. The additional money is a first step towards building a social care service, which enables disabled and older people to live full and dignified lives.”
