DR UK is a stakeholder in the PA Framework Group which has been working with the Department of Health and Social Care’s PPE future demand strategy team to help understand individual employer requirements for PPE during the Coronavirus pandemic.
This team has been speaking with all areas of the health and social care sector and as part of this work, DHSC would now like to speak directly with independent employers of PAs and has commissioned a research organisation to undertake a survey.
The Department of Health and Social Care’s (DHSC) PPE Demand and Strategy team is leading work to make sure it understands when, where and how much Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used in different health, social care and other settings and how this has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our focus is on finding out what is needed, how it can be distributed and how it is funded.
It is keen to talk to individual employers of personal assistants to understand their experiences of PPE usage, accessibility and supply during the Coronavirus pandemic.
These conversations will be used to build a picture of the national need for PPE during the pandemic and will allow it to make detailed forecasts of PPE usage in the future to improve planning to meet those needs.
If you would like to take part, please let the PA Framework Group at Skills for Care know by 15 July at information.team@skillsforcare.org.uk. You’ll need to confirm that you give your consent to take part and give them your contact details (full name, telephone number and email address). You will then be phoned by an interviewer from NatCen Social Research who will arrange a time to complete the survey with you or, if you agree, carry out the survey there and then. The survey should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.
