The Bar Council is looking to make a short film – 5 minutes or so - on the impact of legal aid cuts.
We would like the film to feature those who work directly with people who have been impacted by the cuts.
We are approaching charities who support those with disabilities, single parents and homeless people, litigants in person and professional groups in education and social work so that they can tell the stories of what happens to people who don’t have access to legal advice and support.
If possible, we would like to feature people who have been affected, as well as the professionals and charity workers who support them. The most vulnerable people in the country are affected by the cuts, and their story needs to be told to a mainstream audience.
The video will be launched at the Bar Council’s Justice Week event The Temple Church in late October, and also pushed out extensively on social media.
The Bar Council would love to have you or some of your partner organisations involved. They are looking to book in filming dates soon, so do let me know if there are any aspects of this idea that would be useful to discuss and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
