The UK Global Disability Summit, which takes place in London today (Monday 23 July 2018), comes at an interesting time for disabled people in this country.
Driven mainly by the Department for International Development (DfID), it may cause the odd twinge of embarrassment amongst some of their Whitehall colleagues.
Around 800 people from disabled people’s organisations and foreign governments will assemble in London. They arrive less than a year after the UN Committee on the Rights of People with Disabilities (UNCRPD) condemned the UK’s recent record on disability. Read more
