CQC's State of Care in Mental Health Services Report 2014/2017 found that a number of mental health wards had dormitory accommodation.
This arrangement is unsupportive of people’s privacy or dignity and can make protecting these particularly challenging for staff and patients.
CQC are running a survey to gain insight into people’s personal experience of dormitories, as well as people who have been in non-dormitory mental health wards and the family/carers of those who have been in mental health ward dormitories.
The information will be used by CQC to help develop the way it inspects and rates mental health services. They will not share these experiences with any other organisations.
Please share with your audiences. The survey closes on 26th November.
