It’s been a busy couple of weeks for I Can Make It, which means that there are a lot of photos in this update!

On Monday 13th March, Anna Denham and our champion for Leicester Amir Pathan went to the offices of Leicester City Council where they met Sue Waddington Deputy Mayor Jobs and Skills as well as several senior council officers. We’d like to thank Leicester City Council for their time and hospitality and look forward to working with them to create jobs for young disabled people.

Our champions for Liverpool and Manchester, Hannah Ross and Will Case were in action for I Can Make It on Friday 17th March at the Social Audit Network (SAN) roadshow in Stockport. They gave a short presentation about I Can Make It to an audience of professionals in local government. They found the roadshow to be an interesting one. We are grateful to the SAN Network for hosting two of our champions and giving them the opportunity to talk about the campaign with our target audience.

On Monday 20th March Our Champion for Bristol, Charlotte White, met with the SEND Youth Participation Group at Bristol City Council. The meeting was a productive one and we look forward to working further with the participation group.

Finally, to round off a busy period, on Tuesday 21st March our apprentice in Hull, Luke Johnson, and our Champion for the North East, Jonathan Mears, attended Procurex North in Manchester. They made a lot of great contacts with different potentially key partners which we look forward to building on.

So a lot of exciting and productive work by our champions. We’re looking forward to seeing most of them at I Can Make It Exchange on Monday 27th March, including our first champion for Essex, Heather Richardson which will be taking place just after this update is sent out. And we’re looking for more champions to join them and particularly in Liverpool where we’re in contact with the local council there Nottingham, Norfolk, and Bristol!

Introducing our new Champion for I Can Make It in Essex, Heather Richardson!
