The “Ahead of the arc” report highlights that on current trends and policies the Government is certain to miss its target to halve the disability employment gap.
It offers the Government details of what new interventions in the economy will be required for it to succeed in fulfilling its manifesto commitment to halve the gap between the employment rate of disabled people and that of non-disabled people by 2020.
Philip Connolly, DR UK Policy manager, and Professor Kim Hoque of Warwick Business School supported Dr Lisa Cameron MP and chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Disability in presenting “Ahead of the arc” to the DWP Secretary of State Damian Green MP at DWP head offices in London on Thursday 17 March.
Damian Green agreed to meet with the APPG on Disability when the Government issues its response to its recent consultation on the green paper, “Improving Lives.”
