On Tuesday 10th of May Leo Capella, the I Can Make It Campaign Project Co-Ordinator, attended a meeting in our newest target city, Norwich.
The meeting had a wide attendance, including representatives from Norwich City Council, the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and Norfolk Job Centre Plus. Our aim was to persuade them to support our campaign to influence existing spending in local government and large businesses, by engaging with their procurement teams and supply chain managers to raise awareness of the benefits of employing young disabled people.
The meeting also involved a wider approach that we’re working on involving creating work experience opportunities with SEN Trust Norfolk. An hour and a half of positive discussion revealed a number of opportunities to co-operate. Many thanks to the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce for being excellent hosts and to Robert Ashton for organising the meeting.
Also as we’re now delivering I Can Make It in Norwich, if you live in or around there have a disability or long term health condition and are aged 18-29, then watch this space as we’ll be recruiting up to three volunteers soon.
