The Department for Transport (DfT) is looking to assess the impact and quality of the disability awareness training provided to bus and coach drivers in the UK.
The DfT would like to contact people with a cognitive impairment who would be willing to undertake a phone or face-to-face interview to discuss their experiences of using buses or coaches, any particular problems they face or barriers to using this mode of transport, and what makes a good / bad journey by bus or coach.
Participating in this process will support the DfT’s objectives in this area and enable you to influence the development of emerging good practice guidance around the content and delivery of disability awareness training in the run up to it becoming compulsory in 2018 under EU legislation.
