On the 14 July Leo Capella and Philip Connolly attended the Quarterly West Midlands Heads of Procurement (WMHoP) meeting for July with one of our Birmingham based champions Rahul Tooray.
Another one of our champions, Katy Evans, provided some remarks about why she joined the campaign that Leo was able to share during the meeting.
The meeting was an opportunity to meet heads of procurement and senior officers from different councils across the West Midlands, and to get them on board with the objectives of I Can Make It.
The meeting was extremely positive, and the procurement representatives from the ten different areas were a receptive and intelligent audience. Neil Dickens from Yorkshire Purchasing Office also gave an illuminating presentation, providing valuable insight into procurement. We look forward to working closely with everyone in future.
We would like to thank Birmingham City Council for their co-operation with us before and on the day, Andy Moran from Wolverhampton City Council for inviting us to the meeting, and everyone who attended and made us feel very welcome.
