Over the coming weeks we will be engaging with Local Authority procurement teams across England (both tiers of local government) for our "I Can Make It" campaign.
Aimed at improving employment opportunities for young people with disabilities, the campaign uses the Social Value Act as it's main driver and engages young disabled people with key council decision makers, procurement professionals, supply chain managers etc. to raise awareness of the huge benefits of employing young disabled people.
We've already made an excellent start and are building strong relationships countrywide, including with one council who have taken on a young disabled person as a modern apprentice within their own procurement team. However, we would like to see more local authorities taking part, particularly those outside of London.
We would therefore love to speak with more council procurement professionals to identify and deliver opportunities for young disabled people.
