Labour Market Stats show disability employment gap unchanged

The Office for National Statistics has today released Labour Market Figures for October to December 2015.

Analysis by Scope, one of our member organisations, shows that, although more disabled people are in work, the disability employment gap remains unchanged.

Scope’s analysis of the number of disabled people in work shows:

  • The number of disabled people in employment has increased by 152,000 since the same period in 2014.
  • The employment rate for disabled people is now 46.7%, an increase of 1.1% on the same period in 2014.
  • The gap between the employment rate of disabled people and the rest of the population is 33.6%, which is the same as the previous year.
