Estimates of the take-up of the main income-related benefits by caseload and expenditure in Great Britain

These experimental statistics provide estimates of take-up, by caseload and expenditure, of the following income-related benefits:

  • Income Support
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Pension Credit
  • Housing Benefit (including Local Housing Allowance)
  • Council Tax Benefit (to financial year 2009/10) – discontinued – last published in February 2012
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

The latest figures are for the 2013/14 year. The take up for Income Support, and Employment and Support Allowance is estimated to be between 77 per cent and 81 per cent overall in 2013/14.
