MPs say write off all bedroom tax arrears

A new report by Parliament’s Scottish Affairs Committee says the Scottish Government’s plans to alleviate the bedroom tax in Scotland via Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) is flawed and inadequate.

In its Ninth Report: The Impact of the Bedroom Tax in Scotland: Plan B-charges, arrears and refunds the Committee once more demands the Scottish Government write off all the bedroom tax arrears, and refund all the payments that have been made so far as “the only fair and workable way forward”.
