The Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC) have reviewed the rule that allows decision makers of Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) claims to presume an industrial disease was caused by the claimant’s working conditions.

Currently the rule does not apply to all industrial diseases and some diseases have different time limits for the rule.

IIAC have recommended changing the rule. Their recommendations are published in this report - Presumption that an illness is due to working conditions.
