Rehabilitation is everyone’s business – consultation events in London (20th February) and Leeds (6th March)

NHS England is developing principles and objectives for the delivery of high quality adult rehabilitation services. Examples of rehabilitation services include those received after a stroke or brain injury, following a fall, for cardiac and respiratory disease, as well as end of life care. This work also includes the transition from children and young people’s services into adult rehabilitation services. An important aspect of this work is to ensure that equal consideration is given to both mental and physical health in rehabilitation services.

NHS England are now testing, refining and agreeing the draft principles and objectives with patients and the public at two events. One will be held in London on 20th February and the other in Leeds on 6th March 2014 (venues to be confirmed). They would really value your views if you have recently experienced rehabilitation services or care for someone who has. If you are available and interested in attending one of the events, please call Jayne on 0113 8248262 if you have any questions/queries. Jayne will then send you a form which you need to complete by the 10th of February and email back to jayne.carberry-baxter@nhs.net. All reasonable travel expenses to attend these events will be reimbursed. On the form, you will be asked to state which of the two events you would like to attend and give brief details of your experiences with rehabilitation services.
