October ESA Work Capability Assessment statistics

These statistics cover the period from December 2012 to February 2013.

During this time:

58 per cent of claimants were entitled to Employment and Support Allowance. Within this –

• 23 per cent of claimants were placed in the Work Related Activity Group, and
• 35 per cent of claimants were placed in the Support Group;

42 per cent of claimants were assessed as Fit For Work.

The proportion entitled to Employment and Support Allowance has risen by 3 percentage points since the last quarter. The proportion assigned to the Work Related Activity Group has fallen by 1 percentage point and the proportion assigned to the Support Group has risen by 4 percentage points.
