Renfrewshire Council may try and reclassify homes where tenants need additional bedrooms because of a disability or medical requirements to avoid bedroom tax penalties
This move would appear logical as there are currently Council Tax discounts in similar cases (see our Factsheet F43 - help with council tax).
The proposals would not affect a single healthy person with spare bedrooms.
