East Kilbride schoolboy wins landmark disability discrimination tribunal

A disabled pupil from St Hilary’s Primary School in East Kilbride will now be able to take guitar lessons after winning a landmark disability discrimination tribunal.

In the first case of its kind in Scotland, the tribunal decision stated that 10-year-old Thomas Pettigrew should be provided with the appropriate additional support by the local authority to allow him to join his fellow pupils in school-run extracurricular activities.
