Five Remploy factories in Scotland and four factories in England to close

Remploy has announced that Frontline and Marine Textiles factories, based at Dundee, Stirling, Clydebank, Leven and Cowdenbeath had no viable business bids and so are to close. 

Packaging factories, based at Norwich, Portsmouth, Burnley and Sunderland will also now close.

The closures affect 284 employees, including 234 disabled employees. They will be invited to at least two individual consultation meetings over the next 30 days to discuss the options and the support that will be available to them.
