Government response to DSA funding

Planned Government cuts to the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) will go ahead in 2016/17 with some minor changes.

Proposed changes to DSA were postponed pending the outcome of a consultation.

Disability Rights UK responded to the consultation and now the Government has published its response.

Social Model of Disability: Language

The Social Model of Disability was developed by Disabled people and describes people as being disabled by barriers in society, not by our impairment or difference. If modern life was set up in a way that was accessible for Disabled people, then we would not be excluded or restricted.
