The DWP has announced a further roll-out of personal independence payment (PIP) to those with a long term or indefinite DLA award.

In July 2015, the DWP started to roll out the final phase of PIP to existing DLA claimants. These claimants are being invited to claim PIP where they:

  • have an indefinite or long term award; and
  • are of working age; or
  • have become age 65 since 8 April 2013.

From July, the DWP started to invite a limited number of randomly selected claimants living in the following postcode areas:

  • Blackburn (BB)
  • Bolton (BL)
  • Derby (DE)
  • Leicester (LE)
  • Manchester (M)
  • Oldham (OL)
  • Preston (PR)
  • Stoke on Trent (ST)
  • Warrington (WA)
  • Wigan (WN).

In August, it extended this to a small number of people living Colchester (CO), Liverpool (L) and Norwich (NR).
From 1 September the DWP is further extending these invitations to claimants living in the areas, listed by region, below:

North East:

  • Durham (DH)

Yorkshire & Humber:

  • Halifax (HX)
  • Huddersfield (HD)

North West:
