Challenging decisions webinar
Today Ken Butler and Robbie Spence presented our second Mandatory Reconsideration webinar workshop for advisers
The webinar was a repeat of our webinar on 20 January, which was based on our workshop on 13 December at Disability Rights UK when Martin Williams and Mike Spencer of Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) spoke about the new mandatory reconsideration rule.
As before, the main focus was on what you can do as an employment and support allowance (ESA) claimant when your ESA stops while the DWP do the mandatory reconsideration before you appeal. The other main topic was what you can do if you are late in asking for a revision and the DWP refuses to allow it and you are then barred from taking your case to the independent First-tier Tribunal.
Feedback on the last webinar was very positive:
“Excellent training as always by Disability Rights UK. Very clear and easy to follow. The trainers Robbie and Ken were very knowledgeable and with many relevant tips to try to solve Mandatory Reconsideration problems. They covered all the points I wanted to learn about.”
“Well conducted and it was easy to make questions and to obtain the answers. Hope there are more trainings like these. Excellent way to do trainings. Thank you.”
“This was an incredibly positive experience. I have serious health issues that make getting out problematic, being able to take part from home was very, very helpful. Perhaps the DWP and Job Centre plus could do this for those claimants unable to get to a Job Centre!”
We gratefully acknowledge support for this event from Trust for London and input from Child Poverty Action Group to the original workshop.
Disability Rights UK would like to thank all those who contributed to the event. We hope to run more in the future.
